ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT

ISZY SONNENTAG

CADOTT HIGH SCHOOL

Iszy Sonnentag is a standout multi-sport athlete from Cadott High School in Wisconsin, excelling in both track and field and wrestling. In track, she made history by setting the WIAA Division 3 state record in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds at the 2025 State Championships and has also captured a state title in the 400-meter dash. In addition to her success on the track, Sonnentag has competed at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament, placing among the top athletes in her weight class, showcasing her versatility, competitiveness, and elite athletic ability across multiple sports.

JOY BASTIAN

Joy has been coaching cross country at Gibraltar High School in Fish Creek since 2008 and track and field since 2009, serving as head coach and overseeing the distance, middle-distance, and throwing events. A native of Princeton, Wisconsin, she attended Lawrence University in Appleton, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Theatre Arts and competed in 11 seasons of cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field, earning all-conference honors four times while also studying abroad for one season. Joy went on to earn a Master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2016, combining extensive competitive experience with strong leadership and a commitment to athlete development.
